The Trillion-Dollar Program CISO: An Exclusive Interview with Mike Loginov, CEO of Streaming Defense and Former Corporate CISO

Interview conducted by Professor Richard Benham FCIIS FBCS

Prof. Richard Benham: Today, we are honored to be joined by Mike Loginov, a distinguished figure in the realm of cybersecurity. With a background that spans decades and includes serving as a CISO for the NEOM Saudi Vision 2030 trillion-dollar initiative, Mike brings a wealth of experience to the table. Currently at the helm of Streaming Defense as CEO, Mike is here to shed light on the intricacies of cybersecurity and unveil the groundbreaking initiatives his company is undertaking. Mike, let’s start by learning a bit about your background and how you got into cybersecurity and how you arrived at Streaming Defense.

Mike Loginov: Thank you for the warm welcome. My journey in cybersecurity began during the Cold War, some four decades ago when I trained as a secure communications engineer in the UK military. Since then, I've served as a CISO for various corporates, including the NEOM Saudi Vision 2030 trillion-dollar initiative, arguably one of the largest and most interesting cybersecurity roles out there. Throughout my career, I've encountered the pressing challenges both private and public organizations face in safeguarding against cyber threats. What led me to join the board of Streaming Defense as a shareholder and CEO was its distinctive approach to threat detection and real-time active response capability. As a CISO, I constantly sought solutions that could provide rapid defense and immediate action to unfolding live attacks. Streaming Defense stood out for its ability to terminate attacks as they occurred, preventing data compromise. I believe this progressive approach will greatly benefit other CISOs and security professionals across industry.

Prof. Richard Benham: That's truly remarkable, Mike. Can you elaborate on what makes Streaming Defense stand out in the crowded cybersecurity market?

Mike Loginov: Absolutely. What sets Streaming Defense apart is its ability to combine wire-speed processing, in-memory analytics, and AI-driven threat detection to deliver real-time threat intelligence and immediate response capabilities. Unlike traditional solutions that rely on log data, signature-based detection, and the latency that comes with writing data to disk, and often the need to store huge data volumes in an international remote cloud environment. Streaming Defense operates at the speed of the network, enabling organizations to detect and respond to threats as they occur. This level of agility and effectiveness is unmatched in the industry and provides organizations with a proactive defense against emerging threats. Speed is a key determinant in outmanoeuvring an attacker; at Streaming Defense, we see, capture, and terminate threats before they replicate across a network and we kill data exfiltration in its tracks.

Prof. Richard Benham: Impressive! How do you envision Streaming Defense making an impact on the cybersecurity landscape under your leadership?

Mike Loginov: My goal as CEO of Streaming Defense is to drive innovation and empower organizations to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats. With our cutting-edge technology and focus on real-time threat detection and response, we have the opportunity to redefine how organizations approach cybersecurity. By providing easy to deploy, actionable intelligence, and immediate action capabilities, we can help organizations mitigate risks, protect their assets, and maintain the trust of their customers and stakeholders. We automate and reduce the need for hard-to-find and harder-to-retain professional security analysts; we put the technology to work.

Prof. Richard Benham: That sounds like a promising vision, Mike. Can you share any upcoming initiatives or developments that we can expect from Streaming Defense in the near future?

Mike Loginov: Certainly. This is not so much a vision as a reality being deployed now. At Streaming Defense, we are continuously investing in research and development to enhance our capabilities and to ensure we stay ahead of emerging threats. In the coming months, you can expect to see new features and functionalities aimed at further improving our threat detection accuracy, reducing response times, and enhancing overall cybersecurity posture. Additionally, we will be expanding our partnerships and collaborations to ensure that organizations have access to the best-in-class cybersecurity solutions and expertise. Everything we deploy today is appropriate for current defensive requirements and we anticipate will remain so for some time to come.

Prof. Richard Benham: Exciting times ahead for Streaming Defense! Before we wrap up, is there anything else you'd like to share with our audience?

Mike Loginov: I'd like to emphasize the importance of collaboration and partnership in the cybersecurity ecosystem. Cyber threats are constantly evolving, and no organization can tackle them alone. By working together, sharing insights, and leveraging innovative technologies like Streaming Defense, we can create a safer and more secure digital environment for everyone.

Prof. Richard Benham: Thank you, Mike, for sharing your insights and vision for Streaming Defense. It's been a pleasure speaking with you.

Mike Loginov: Likewise. I appreciate your time and thoughtful questions. I'm excited about the journey ahead and eager to see where this new role will take us. Thank you.
